Understanding Scorecards
Starting August 12, 2015 eligible providers will be receiving Meaningful Use (MU) scorecards.
This scorecard is used to assist providers in improving their MU performance. The scorecard
also gives comparative provider performance to peer averages. The performance scorecards will
be automatically sent to providers and managers bi-weekly to assist with MU compliance.
A. Measure.- refers to what is being measured to demonstrate Meaningful Use in the MU program.
B. % to Goal.- refers to how close the provider is to reaching the compliance goal as shown in
the measure description. A full green bar indicates that they are at 100% (or over) the compliance
value. A red bar indicates how far away they are from the goal. A white bar indicates that the
provider is at 0% and thus no red bar is shown.
C. Score.- refers to the actual value of the measure, as calculated by the subsequent numerator
and denominator values.
D. Numerator/Denominator.- the absolute values used to calculate the % score for the measure. As
all measures are defined differently, it is not unusual to have different denominator values across measures.
E. Group Avg.- the average value for the Peer Group indicated on the Scorecard title for the same
time period also indicated in the title bar.

CMS ICD-10 Coding
ICD-10 codes will replace ICD-9 codes on October 1, 2015. The benefits of ICD-10 are:
1. Improves patient outcomes,
2. Provides detailed patient level data,
3. Improves quality of data tracking and reporting, and
4. Improves public health surveillance.
We understand that moving to ICD-10 is a significant change; starting on October 1st, Medicare claims
with a date of service on or after October 1, 2015 will only be accepted if they contain a valid ICD-10
code. It will be very important when choosing a problem that the ICD-10 code appears on the diagnosis
selected. Centricity EMR will help providers transition to this new process by automatically associating
chosen diagnoses with their ICD-10 code. The Clinical Information Services (CIS) team will be sending
out training for various specialties. As we go towards October, members of the CIS team will also be
available for questions regarding ICD-10.
