Workflow for Pediatric Specialties/Resident Clinic
 Tip of the Week
PLEASE NOTE THIS ONLY APPLIES FOR SUBSPECIALTY CLINICS WITH ROTATING RESIDENTS NOT FOR RESIDENT CONTINUITY CLINIC.
The attending will be the official signing provider.
- The resident will join the update while in the room to start the note and update the medications and problems.
- The resident will then place document on hold and route it to the attending.
- The resident and attending will then review/discuss the case and document together.
Orders can either be placed at this time or by the resident under faculty supervision. The attending will then route the
document back to resident.
- At this point the resident should be done with their portion of the note. The resident will then open the document
and place the quick text “.sign” at the bottom of the note. The resident will then place the document on hold one last time
and send it back to the attending.
The attending will open the document and place the “.tps” attestation after the resident’s signature. The attending will review
the note on last time then sign the document.
