Blood Pressure Parameters and Pop-up!

To assist in blood pressure monitoring, clinical documentation and improve patient care, a Clinical Decision Support alert has been added to the Vital Signs Forms.

If clinical staff enters a blood pressure that is out of clinical range, the staff will receive a pop-up notification to confirm the blood pressure reading, and if it is still out of range, to notify the provider. A check box will appear next to the blood pressure field for the staff to indicate they have notified the provider. Please see screenshot examples below for the various notifications.

If the BP Systolic is outside of the 80-180 range, or the BP Diastolic is outside of the 60-110 range:

Patient Education Handouts

To print a Patient Education Handout from EMR:

  • Access the Patient chart and go to the Problems Tab then select the problem.

  • After the problem has been selected click on the Patient Education Button.

  • Select the Handout from the list below.

  • Select the Language.

  • Click Print.

EMR Announcements

    • We’ve been working diligently to correct the issue of labs not showing in flow sheets. We are correcting different labs each week and this week we have corrected the following:

      Please report any issues regarding these particular labs not crossing over from the report to your flowsheet.

    • Please dial 215-4020 to reach us.

    • To request to file an EMR document in error please send an e-mail to elpasoemr@ttuhsc.edu. Please do not send alerts or flags for this type of request.

EMR Known Issues

There are 2 EMR Known Issues:
    • Rotating residents do not have access to printers or computers in clinic.
      • Clinic must notify EMR department of any residents rotating through their clinic in order for them to be granted access.
    • Please report any lab values not showing in flowsheets after signing the lab report to the EMR, Labs proxy box in EMR.
