Changing orders from EMR-Link – How to

This article will show you the process to change an order inside EMR-Link.

  1. Go to the EMR-Link on your desktop or type http://www.emr-link.com on your web browser.
  2. Logon to EMR-Link using your credentials.
  3. Click on the Orders tab.
  4. Locate the patient ID if needed in the registration section in CEMR.
  5. Search for the patient at the screen below by typing his/her Last Name or Patient ID.
  6. Click the Search button.
  7. Select the patient from the list.
  8. Click on the Sent Checkbox to display sent labs
  9. Select the orders by clicking on the appropriate test name.
  10. Change the service provider by selecting the correct provider from the dropdown list.
  11. Review the bottom of the screen and enter any additional information if required.
  12. Finalize order by sending and/or printing labels and/or requisitions.
    1. If order is going to Lab Corp or Quest select from Send Collected Specimen to Lab or Send Patient to Service Center and click on any other applicable checkboxes.
    2. If order is going to UMC select appropriate options and Print Requisition or Label by clicking on the corresponding button.

Pop-up windows in EMR � Tip of the Week

Please carefully read any messages you get inside Centricity EMR as they can be very informative and will give you details on information you need to know.
In the example above, Centricity is indicating someone made clinical list changes to the document without signing them. Clinical list changes include problems, medications, orders and allergies. Current clinical list changes need to be signed before anyone can make any further clinical list changes.

  3. The UMC computer in the family medicine conference room in the 5th floor is now working properly.
  4. We are now live with UMC Labs. Please start using UMC Lab instead of Other Labs on EMR-Link when printing UMC Order Requisitions.

EMR Known Issues

There is currently 1 EMR Known Issues:
  1. UMC computers in the call rooms in the basement do not have access to EMR currently.
  2. Some e-prescribed medications are not going through when sending to the UMC pharmacy. If this happens please e-mail elpasoemr@ttuhsc.edu with the subject “Prescription Error” and please include the MRN, Provider Name, and the medication code in the body of the e-mail.
  3. E-prescribed sends duplicate responses to prescriptions that did not go through. If this happens to you please send us a screenshot to elpasoemr@ttuhsc.edu .
As always we are working to resolve these issues in a timely fashion and will keep you updated on their status.
