Sports Medicine Fellowship
Athletic Coverage
Our program has partnered with the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and several high schools and participates in training room clinics, offering first-hand exposure to athletes and their injuries and illnesses. As team physicians, our sports medicine fellows will see and treat athletes from a variety of teams and sports, giving them real-time experience in caring for athletes.

We provide our fellows with a variety of on-field experiences, from high school football games to UTEP athletics to the Eagle in the Sun Triathlon and the El Paso Marathon. Through these experiences, fellows will develop skills that will serve as the basis of their on-site and mass participation event management of athletes and their needs. In addition, since our faculty members also serve as race medical directors, fellows will learn about the importance of race planning and the impact of large mass participation events on city infrastructure.
