Welcome to the Family Medicine Clerkship
The TTUHSC El Paso Department of Family and Community Medicine Clerkship team is comprised of four members: doctors Colby M. Genrich and Katie Hartl, and coordinator Amanda Cuseo. Together, we support third- and fourth-year medical students who rotate through our department. Our team’s goal is to mentor and encourage students throughout their educational journey to become competent physicians.
We accomplish our goal by providing our students with a tailored program to meet their needs. We have a five to one student/faculty ratio and our coordinator helps to advise and assist medical students. Our program focuses on developing and implementing a curriculum that prioritizes hands-on medical experience. Our coordinator helps to advise students and oversee student schedules. In addition, our team takes great care in recruiting and visiting each family medicine community physician/preceptor. Further, we stay current on the “latest and greatest” progress in medical student education by attending national conferences, such as the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM). Our team has an open door policy and encourages our students to approach us with any questions, concerns, or issues they may have.
