Secure Messaging Form

Dr. De La Mora has created a workflow video on the Secure Electronic Messaging form used to communicate with patients on relevant health information via Centricity EMR. The video can be accessed here: Sending A Secure Message 2016. Sending a Secure Message to patients is required by all providers as part of Meaningful Use. Patients are not required to be enrolled in Patient Portal at the time of sending the Secure Message. In the event a patient is not enrolled in Patient Portal the patient will be instructed to create an account to view the message. We encourage all providers to use the form as a method of contact with patients.

Sending a Secure Message via Centricity EMR

Within a patients chart select Update.

Search for the encounter type Secure Message to Patient- Basic. Click OK.

Patients email address will populate from the patients registration. Enter the message to be sent under the Message section. Select Reply to Chart to include the message as a document on the patients chart. Attach Chart Summary will include a summary of the chart. Include a signature of your name at the end of the message. Once Completed close the form.

To Finalize the message click on End Update and select Sign Document.

CIS Portal

The Clinical Information Systems team has rolled out the new CIS Portal; formerly known as the CIS Online Applications Request. The newly redesigned portal gives users a better, more effective experience when submitting EMR Training Requests, EMR Application Requests and Project Application Requests. Access has been provided to users of the previously used CIS Online Application. Access Memos have been provided to Administration of each department to grant access to staff. The CIS Portal can be accessed here. Contact the EMR Department for any questions.
