New Ebola pop-up in the vital signs form

There is a new pop-up in all vital signs forms that will alert the clinic if a patient has a fever greater than or equal to 100.4°F / 38.0°C. The pop-up asks if the patient has been to West Africa in the past 21 days. If the user clicks yes, the system will alert them to isolate the patient for high-risk exposure to Ebola.

Step 1: The CMA enters the temperature into the field. If the temperature is above the thresholds, they will immediately get a pop-up

Step 2: If they click yes, they will receive a second pop-up

Family History Form Changes

In order to meet Meaningful Use criteria, Family Histories must now be associated to a first degree relative. Some modification to the family history forms have been made to meet this measure.

Step 1: Select a family member from the relationship drop down list and check off any history associated with that family member. Click the yellow button “Add Items” when done. Repeat the steps for any additional family members. The items will appear in both the edit comments column and the remove comments column in case changes need to be made.

Step 2: To add comments to the family history, check the box next to the item you wish to edit, then type in the “Add comments” box. When you are done click the yellow button “Save Comments”. Repeat for any other items.

Step 3: To remove items from the family history, check the box next the item you wish to remove. The removal reason will default to correction and can be changed. When you are done click the yellow button “Remove”. This will take the items off the FH list.

**NOTE: Only the items appearing in the field titled FAMILY HISTORY will show in your note, as well as in the FH Comments field, which will include the family history items.
