A: Yes. The Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso – Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing (GGHSON) is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Q: What makes a competitive applicant for the Post-Baccalaureate Nursing Leadership Certificate?
A: Successful applicants typically:
- Demonstrate academic excellence and readiness for graduate coursework.
- Can clearly articulate their role and career aspirations.
- Show an understanding of nursing leadership responsibilities and key issues in the field.
- Exhibit leadership potential through scholarship, service, or education.
Q: Is there an expiration on previous coursework?
A: No. However, foundational science and nursing courses are essential to success in
the program. If your coursework was completed more than five years ago, ensure you review relevant material.
Q: Are prerequisite courses required?
A: Yes. Applicants must complete a three-semester-credit-hour or four-quarter-credit-hour statistics course with a grade of B or better from an accredited institution.
- Waiver: This requirement is waived for certificate program applicants.
- M.S.N. Degree: If you later pursue an M.S.N. degree, the statistics prerequisite must be fulfilled.
