Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the Post-Baccalaureate Nursing Leadership Certificate, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Educational Background
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) from a regionally accredited college or university.
- The nursing program must be accredited by:
- Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or
- American Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) (formerly the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission – NLNAC).
Grade Point Average (GPA)
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in undergraduate nursing coursework.
Registered Nurse (R.N.) License
- A valid, unencumbered R.N. license in the applicant’s state of residency.
- Applicants must have successfully passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) before starting M.S.N. coursework.
Prerequisite Coursework
- Statistics Course Requirement:
- The statistics course requirement is waived for certificate program applicants.
- However, if an applicant chooses to continue into the M.S.N. program after completing the certificate, they must have successfully completed a three-semester-credit-hour or four-quarter-credit-hour statistics course with a grade of B or higher from an accredited college or university.
