Student Clerkship Program
The primary purpose of the clinical neurosciences clerkship is to provide the medical student with the ability to perform a neurological interview and examination, interpret signs, consolidate symptoms and signs into syndromes, accurately diagnoses neurological diseases, and identify appropriate evidence-based management strategies.
In outpatient clinics, the student will experience the following clinic types:
- General Neurology
- Parkinson Clinic
- Epilepsy Clinic
- Electrodiagnosis (EMG)
- Basis of Geriatric Medicine relevant to Neurology
- Stroke Clinic
In inpatient, the student will experience the following:
- General Neurology
- Neurological complications of systemic diseases
- Stroke rounds
- Stroke rehabilitation
- Electrodiagnosis (EEG, Evoked Potentials)
The Neurology rotation has an average of eight faculty members and four residents from other clinics that rotate monthly. These residents are from internal medicine, family medicine, and psychiatry.
