Interventional Neurology Fellowship

Overview: The purpose of the training program is to prepare the physician for independent practice in interventional neurology. This training must be based on supervised clinical work with increasing patient care responsibilities and transition to independent practice over the course of the training program

Training details:

• Planned start date: July 1, 2023.
• Training length: Two years.
• Number of trainees per year: One. One junior and senior fellow.
• Major participating site: University Medical Center of El Paso.
• Other participating sites: The Hospitals of Providence Sierra main campus, Las Palmas Medical Center, and El Paso Children’s Hospital.

Fellow eligibility:

• The fellow must possess a current valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States.
• The fellow must be a graduate of a residency program in neurology who completed a one-year vascular neurology in an ACGME program (PGY-6 level) or a two-year neurocritical care fellowship in a UCNS or ACGME program (PGY-7 level), neurosurgery in an ACGME program (PGY-8 level), or radiology who have completed a one-year neuroradiology fellowship accredited by the ACGME (PGY-7 level).
• The fellow must be board certified or eligible for certification by the ABMS in neurology, neurosurgery, or neuroradiology.
