FAQs

Our fellowship program provides excellent exposure to the broad range of clinical activities within pulmonary and critical care. During their three-year training, our fellows will rotate through different specialties within the University Medical Center and spend time at the El Paso Sleep Clinic. The core clinical training encompasses diverse rotations including different ICUs, consult services, radiology, and palliative care. Our outpatient clinics offer a comprehensive range of services in general pulmonary and sleep medicine, along with a subspecialty clinic in pulmonary hypertension. Fellows will dedicate approximately 14 months to ICU rotations, approximately 11 months to non-ICU inpatient rotations, 6 months to electives, with weekly outpatient continuity clinic. Fellows have the opportunity to tailor their training to align with their interests and are encouraged to participate in clinical research activities, along with a diverse range of educational initiatives.
