Texas Tech Health El Paso is proud to partner with our neighbors and colleagues at the University of Texas at El Paso in MedFuture, a pathway program for local high school students who will be attending UTEP and have a strong interest in pursuing medical school.

MedFuture is designed to mentor students from the El Paso region who are committed to a career in medicine. The program offers experiences in health care settings, community service, professional development and biomedical research all aimed at strengthening their interests in health care professions and their candidacy for medical school. The program also provides MCAT preparation to help improve exam scores and make them stronger candidates as they apply for medical school. In addition, all students who successfully complete the program are guaranteed an interview at the Texas Tech Health El Paso’s Foster School of Medicine.

High school students who are accepted into MedFuture are mentored throughout high school and undergraduate, all the way until they enroll in a medical school.

In addition to this active mentorship and guidance, students participate in a variety of activities related to health care professions including paid summer internships to ensure they are able to commit to their preparation for medical school and do not need to pursue employment.

Deadline to apply is Jan. 3, 2025!
