Strategic Vision

The Information Technology Academics vision is to provide ubiquitous, secure, and seamless access to academic applications and resources through a reliable and robust centralized infrastructure. IT Academics engages in collaborative relationships within the institution, serving needs with innovative solutions in support of the institution’s mission of integrated education.

Mission

The primary mission of Information Technology Academics is to provide outstanding user support through evolving, reliable, innovative, integrated and service-oriented academic technology infrastructure through ongoing learning opportunities and maintenance of applications across the schools to create capacity and empower the institutional constituency.

General Goals to support this mission:

  • Recognition as providers of exceptional service.
  • Knowledge creation and sharing through research and innovation.
  • Robust, reliable, and secure applications.
  • Successful collaboration and communication among the schools’ constituents to accomplish objectives and acts of determination supporting institutional initiatives.

Ongoing Learning Opportunities

Information Technology Academics provides learning opportunities for new and current users to improve and sustain learning to enhance knowledge and develop skills for academic applications to be used in the schools. Our team offers onboarding trainings online and in person as well as ongoing refresher training to promote, support and leverage technology resources and tools that will improve and enhance workflow efficiency.

Onboarding trainings enable new users to obtain an overall view of the applications needed to perform their tasks. When a new student, faculty, staff member joins the institution a supervisor enters a SysAid Ticket request and our team provides them with access to a training module that is specific to them as the user. Upon viewing introductory video, the new user will sign an acknowledge form and our team will then register them for the in person training where they will receive robust hands on experiences with the applications.

WLHSDM Trainings

Our refresher application trainings are designed to provide users with the tools and resources needed to enrich curriculum in ways that will benefit student experiences.
