Greetings from The Sun City! We would like to thank you for your interest in the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Transitional Year Residency program in collaboration with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine.

The TTUHSC El Paso Transitional Year Residency program received approval from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education in 2023. The new program will begin reviewing ERAS applications in September 2024, and invitations to interview virtually will be extended to selected applicants soon after. We look forward to welcoming the inaugural class in July 2025.

Future interns will have access to The Hospitals of Providence Transmountain Campus as the program’s primary site, and work side by side with TTUHSC El Paso Internal Medicine Transmountain residents and faculty. They will also rotate with devoted community faculty members across the wonderful city of El Paso. Together, we will serve the inpatient and outpatient needs of the diverse West Texas and Southern New Mexico community.

It is our goal to train exceptional interns in a learning environment with sound, evidence-based rotational experiences in several primary specialties to prepare them for any categorical residency of their choosing.
