Dear TTUHSC El Paso Webex users (and future users):

In 2016, Cisco Webex was deployed at TTUHSC El Paso. We’re pleased many of you embraced Webex’s online meeting and collaboration tools, but we are eager to increase Webex usage across the university.

To accomplish this, we’re relaunching Webex to make sure the entire university community is aware of the powerful collaboration tools available to them.  As you know, meeting rooms are hard to come by, and the people we need to meet can’t always be in the same location. Webex allows us to collaborate securely from any device, from any location, at any time. 

Our Webex service:

  • Incorporates multi-layered security, including required passwords for each conference, role-based access and privileges, and encryption for data in transit and at rest.
  • Includes Webex integrated audio to meet the university’s web, audio and video conferencing needs. 
  • Webex integrated audio includes both telephony and computer audio and includes callback telephony, which simplifies attending meetings on a mobile device.
  • All user accounts will be upgraded to include video conferencing, allowing  participants to start or join Webex meetings using TTUHSC El Paso’s video conferencing equipment.

If you provide training or meet with internal and external individuals or groups, your Webex service can support those sessions. Whether it is one-to-one or one-to-many, we’d love to show you how Webex can help.

Our Webex site, ttuhscep.webex.com, offers the following services to support the needs of faculty, staff and students:  

  • Webex Meetings – for interviews, online meetings and collaboration
  • Webex Training – for virtual, distance-learning classrooms
  • Webex Events – for large, structured online events and seminars
  • Webex Support – for desktop support 

AND – Webex Teams. Collaborate before and after your meetings, trainings and events…

  • Webex Teams allows you to message, meet, share, draw and more.
  • Webex Teams allows you to participate wherever you are, on any device. 
  • Whenever you need to, Webex Teams’ video capabilities allow you to meet face-to-face with colleagues.

For further Webex productivity, the new Webex desktop app will be pushed to your computer on 03/06/2019- 03/22/2019.  This will include the Webex grouping in Outlook, which simplifies scheduling meetings.

As a part of the relaunch, we’ll be providing virtual training classes led by a Webex expert.  Stay tuned for details, dates and times!
