Annual Community Faculty Appreciation Dinner
Texas Tech Health hosts our dinner in recognition of those faculty members who often contribute their time and expertise without monetary compensation. The dinner serves as a formal recognition of their hard work and dedication, acknowledging their vital role in educating our future healthcare professionals. We hope to motivate faculty members to continue contributing their skills and knowledge to benefit students, our community, and the university.
We recognize the following:
M.V.P. Physician (Most Valuable Physician)
2024 Winner: C. Eze
Teaching effectiveness and the ability to convey complex medical concepts to students. Mentorship and guidance provided to students in their clinical and research activities.
- Engagement in research and publications in collaboration with the medical university.
- Active involvement in curriculum development and improvement.
- Contributions to the development of practical skills and critical thinking among students.
- Participation in professional development activities and continuing education to enhance teaching skills.
- Recognition and feedback from students, colleagues, and the institution for their educational contributions. By assessing these aspects, the impact of the medical professional’s teaching role can be appropriately acknowledged and appreciated within the medical university’s educational environment.
Pre-Clerkship Award (Years 1-2)
2024 Winner: Juan Perez
- Students of the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine were asked to submit names of community faculty members they have worked with who had the most impact on their education journeys.
- Two pre-clerkship nominees and two clerkship nominees were selected from those names, placed on a ballot, and sent to the students to vote for one in each of the two categories.
Clerkship Award (Years 3-4)
2024 Winner: Vanessa Ruiz
- Students of the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine were asked to submit names of community faculty members they have worked with who have had the most impact on their education journeys.
