Committees
Community Service Committee
Purpose
The purpose of the Community Service Committee is to organize, schedule, and publicize service activities for GGHSON students. All members will have the opportunity to participate in activities organized by this committee and further serve the community each term. This committee is responsible for informing fellow students of upcoming service events.
Operation Committee
Purpose
The Operation Committee is responsible for promoting elections of senators from each cohort to fill the positions outlined in the bylaws. Senators are elected at the end of the fall semester of that year for new cohorts. In addition, this committee is responsible for keeping the NSU up to date, maintaining the NSU calendar, debating any changes made to the NSU constitution, handling all complaints, and working with Student Services for the approval of the NSU logo and design before use.
Committee Chair
Social and Public Relations Committee
Purpose
The Social and Public Relations Committee is composed of senators representing each cohort of the GGHSON. They are responsible for coordinating and publicizing the social functions of the school. They are also responsible for publicizing NSU news on Tech View, maintaining relations with Tech Talk, and informing other media about functions as appropriate. This committee is also responsible for notifying all senators prior to each senate meeting or other special events as directed by the NSU president. This committee shall be composed of one senator from each cohort and be chaired from within the executive body.
Finance Committee
Purpose
The Finance Committee is composed of senators representing each cohort. The committee's duty is to present a recommendation to the faculty and staff, advisors, and student body regarding the dispersal of funds. The committee carefully researches and reviews these requests in an attempt to make the most fair and unbiased recommendations. In addition, the committee is responsible for the coordination of fundraising efforts, with the assistance of Alumni Relations and/or Student Services.
