Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate, masters, doctoral, and professional degrees. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso is a part of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and is currently seeking separate accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The Paul L. Foster School of Medicine is separately accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). The LCME is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) as the reliable authority for the accreditation of medical education programs leading to the M.D. degree and is sponsored jointly by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and the American Medical Association (AMA).
