Cerebral Cavernous Malformations Survey
SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR A RESEARCH STUDY
The purpose of the study is to identify the genetic factors that cause cerebral cavernous malformations (CCMs) and validate new potential biomarkers for early detection.
To participate in this research, you must:
Be 10 to 78 years of age.
Have a positive medical history associated with CCMs, or stroke/epilepsy.
Have a family member with a positive medical history associated with CCMs, or stroke/epilepsy.
Have a relatively complete medical history that can be accurately confirmed by an
interview or electronic and/or paper medical records.
Open to Hispanic Americans
Participation in this study involves:
Use of 1 ½ tablespoons of blood that is already being drawn as part of your standard
of care, from one of your arm veins.
The genetic material (DNA) and proteins will be obtained from this blood sample for
genetic testing and biomarker validation.
A time commitment of a maximum of one additional hour from your normal doctor’s visit.
Your medical records being reviewed to collect demographic and physical exam information
to pair with your blood sample.
