About Us
Over the last 30 years, the Office of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) has provided high-quality educational activities for a diverse audience of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, faculty, fellows, residents, students, and providers from affiliated institutions and the surrounding community.
Using an interprofessional approach, the Office of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is committed to developing and implementing evidence-based continuing education activities that address identified professional practice gaps in knowledge, competence, and performance. In accordance with Joint Accreditation criteria, educational activities are designed to foster collaboration among healthcare professionals and to improve team performance and patient outcomes in the border region of West Texas.
Recognizing that education spans the continuum from undergraduate through graduate and continuing professional development, CPE promotes lifelong learning and the integration of interprofessional education into all stages of training. Activities are planned to support improvements in clinical practice, enhance communication among healthcare team members, and strengthen patient-centered care.
In alignment with Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) criteria and the Standards for Integrity and Independence, CPE ensures that educational activities are independent, evidence-based, and free of commercial bias. Our programs incorporate interprofessional planning processes, utilize outcome-based evaluation methods, and are committed to measuring the impact of education on learners, healthcare teams, and patient care.
