Favorite thing about El Paso: I love the weather, the food and the culture in El Paso.

Hobbies/Interests: In my free time I like to cook very traditional Ghanaian dishes. I also like to spend time with my husband and kids, play tennis and sew. I love to volunteer in the community. I love to dance/choreograph to African songs.

Plans after residency: Work with my husband on missionary trips in the United States and around the globe.

Something unique or interesting about yourself: I am a chemical Engineer with title Ing, a missionary, a first lady of my church and a Co-founder of Mother in Medicine student organization. Medicine is not just a profession to me but a calling.

Favorite thing about El Paso: It’s the city with the kindest patients, great Mexican food, and beautiful weather.

Hobbies/Interests: Hiking, camping, baking, crocheting, working on old cars, hanging out with my husband and two fur babies, and all things Disney!

Plans after residency: Definitely get out of debt and either work community/rural EM or get a fellowship not completely sure yet.

Something unique or interesting about yourself: My husband and I drove coast to coast in the last 6 months and visited both Disney World and Disneyland (only downtown Disney because the park wasn’t open yet) in the middle of a pandemic.

Favorite thing about El Paso: I am excited to jump into the Hispanic culture.

Plans after residency: Fellowship and becoming board-certified in the U.S. I hope to find a way to work both in the U.S. and Japan.

Something unique or interesting about yourself: I have been playing the cello for my entire life. Always looking for a reason to play! I am also a licensed physician in Japan.

Favorite thing about El Paso: Looking forward to finding out!

Hobbies/Interests: Skiing, horseback riding, reading fantasy novels 

Plans after residency: I just got here! But in a couple years, I would like to be working in another county setting out west, plus or minus a fellowship in between. 

Something unique about myself: In college, I auditioned for and performed in a ballet despite having absolutely no experience!

What I’m most excited about in El Paso: All the things to do outdoors! World Class Bouldering at Hueco Tanks, climbing and hiking Franklin Mountain National Park

Hobbies: Running, biking, climbing, paddleboarding, videogames

Plans after residency: Either working in the community for pursuing an ultrasound fellowship. 

Something unique about myself: I briefly built and sold furniture before going to medical school.

Favorite thing about El Paso: Mexican food, being near mountains with lots of stuff to do outdoors

Hobbies/Interests: Watching movies, reading, anything science fiction, weightlifting

Plans after residency: Community EM in south Texas; get my pilots license

Something Unique or interesting about yourself: I have a minor in film and own a collection of over 200 DVDs.

Favorite thing about El Paso: My family, the mountains, the smell of rain in the desert (there’s a name for it that I just learned recently, petrichor) and of course the people 

Hobbies/Interests: spending time with family, hiking, running, being outdoors 

Plans after residency: work in the community preferably in a border town 

Something unique or interesting about yourself: I have 3 dogs, 2 Chihuahuas and a German Shepherd

Favorite thing about El Paso: I’m looking forward to exploring a new area and going an entire year without wearing a winter coat.

Hobbies/Interests: Running, biking (mountain and road), ping pong, video games, reading, bouldering/climbing, cooking/baking, sewing, canoeing/kayaking, and programming/coding.

Plans after residency: Not sure yet!

Something unique or interesting about yourself: I was the 2019 intramural ping pong champion at the University of Minnesota.

Favorite thing about El Paso: El Paso sunsets, food, culture and close proximity to the mountains. 

Hobbies/Interests: Hiking with my dogs, listening to podcasts/audiobooks, amateur boxing. 

Plans after residency: Fellowship in ultrasound or critical care, ultimately academic medicine.

Something unique or interesting about yourself:  RN with previous work experience in the ICU/ER.

Favorite thing about El Paso: The people and the food, of course! El Paso is home to kind and welcoming people, and I’ve fallen in love with the community since starting med school here four years ago.

Hobbies/Interests: Hiking, hunting, fly-fishing, dirt bikes, precision sports and a dozen others

Plans after residency: Balancing family time with serving my local and global community as an Emergency Physician

Something unique or interesting about yourself: I served four years active duty in the U.S. Army Infantry

Favorite thing about El Paso: The food, the culture, the friendly people here. Border health. The weather- you can enjoy outdoor activities all year round. Small city with a big attitude! 

Hobbies/Interests: I love spending time with my girls (plus the new baby coming soon- I will no longer be the only boy!). I love traveling, meeting new people, learning about new cultures, and trying new foods. I also really enjoy being outdoors whether it’s hiking, biking, or camping. 

Plans after residency: Fellowship, possibly? Otherwise, something with global health. 

Something unique or interesting about yourself: I have lived in 4 different countries, expanding 3 continents, by the time I was 8 years old!
