This specialized track allows you to complete both adult psychiatry residency, and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship within five years.

- Efficient Application Process: Apply once through ERAS for both residency and fellowship. Simply indicate your intent to pursue this pathway during your general psychiatry residency application.
- Early Specialization: Begin integrating child and adolescent psychiatry care in your second year of residency.
- Tailored Rotations: Complete up to two months of your primary care requirements in pediatrics, with opportunities for unique child psychiatry experiences.
- Mentorship and Research Opportunities: Collaborate with established mentors to explore projects in your areas of interest.
Sample Training Schedule
PGY-1
- 2 months: General Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Emergency Medicine
- 5 months: Inpatient Psychiatry
- 2 months: Neurology
- 1 month: Emergency Psychiatry
- 2 months: Internal Medicine and/or Family Medicine
PGY-2
- 1 month: Child and Adolescent Consult-Liaison Psychiatry
- 2 months: Texas Child Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) and/or Rural Telemedicine for Youth (RTY) Clinics
- 6 months: Adult Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry
- 3 months: Emergency Psychiatry
PGY-3
- Elective Time: ½ day per week for research or clinical interests

- Emergence Health Network Young Adult Psychosis Clinic
- Ysleta School District Comprehensive Care Clinic
- Outpatient Psychiatry at Texas Tech (geriatric and addiction medicine included)

- Outpatient Clinic at VA Hospital
PGY-4/5
- Full focus on the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship
