eLearning Tips

Common tips for shifting instruction to an eLearning environment include the following:

  • Ensure that your course has a coherent structure and that materials are well organized.
  • Put extra effort into ensuring that students understand what is expected of them.
  • Be available, responsive, and send regular communications.
  • Ask students to lead discussions and group work.
  • Be flexible and ready to adjust assignments and deadlines, in response to student needs.
  • Take device/internet/technology accessibility and issues into consideration and be prepared for students to be unresponsive. Have a plan to reach out.
  • Provide timely feedback on work and assignments.
