How to Apply

Application Procedure
We accept applications exclusively through the Electronic Resident Application Service (ERAS) provided by the Association of American Medical Colleges.

One must be from a family physician attesting to your qualifications and interest in family medicine.

If you are not currently in medical school, a letter from your current supervising physician is required.

Application Deadline
We do not have a specific deadline, but due to the high volume of applications, we strongly recommend submitting before the ERAS release date in September. Applications received after first week of October are unlikely to be reviewed.
Program Details

Number of Residents Accepted: Eight per year
-
Interview Invitations: Sent via Thalamus
-
Interview Format: In-person, including dinner with residents, a facility and city tour, lunch at a local restaurant, and faculty interviews.

Interview Schedule: Mondays and Fridays, November through January. The interview experience begins the evening before and concludes around 4:30 p.m. the following day.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:

Graduates of LCME-accredited medical schools in the U.S. or Canada.

Graduates of AOA-accredited osteopathic medical schools in the U.S.

Graduates of international medical schools who meet the following:

Hold a valid ECFMG certificate

Have one year of U.S. clinical experience (observerships, externships, or research do not qualify)

Additional Requirements and Considerations
Spanish Language Requirement

Not required. While we serve a large Spanish-speaking population, many patients are bilingual, and translation services are available.
USMLE/COMLEX Score Requirements
-
No minimum score is required.
-
Step 2 CK / Level 2 CE is not required for an interview but must be passed to be ranked.

Scores can take up to eight weeks to be reported—please plan accordingly.
USMLE/COMLEX Step 3

Not required for application or acceptance.

Must be successfully passed by March 1 of the PGY-2 year (recommended before the end of the intern year).
What Happens After You Apply?

Applications that meet our basic criteria are reviewed and evaluated.

If selected for an interview, you will receive an invitation via Thalamus.

If you are not selected for an interview, you will not be contacted.
