Residency Program

Welcome to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program. We thank you for your interest and invite you to explore the information we have on our website. As a program that received Initial Accreditation in 2025, we look forward to welcoming our first class of new residents in 2026. We encourage all interested applicants to learn more about our unique location along the border of Texas, Mexico and New Mexico which provides an exceptional training environment; producing well-rounded surgeons. Our goals are to serve the community, train orthopaedic surgeons that are capable, affable, and compassionate, while supporting the critical mission of our institution. Enjoy!

“Mountain bike, hike, visit national parks, enjoy the Sun City!”

“El Paso is a beautiful multicultural city with tons of sunshine. I spend 99%of my time outdoors.”

“Hiking, great local food options, family events (water parks, splash pads, parks everywhere). It's not a remote town, it is a city with nearly a million people and a ton of things to do.”

“There are several activities in the greater El Paso area to take advantage of when we are not on the job. The landscape makes outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing. Additionally, there is never a shortage of delicious Mexican food to try!”
