Global Health and Societies

The Office of Global Health and Societies (OGHS) at Texas Tech Health El Paso promotes global awareness, cultural understanding and meaningful engagement with communities in El Paso and around the world.

Located along the U.S.-Mexico border, Texas Tech Health El Paso provides a unique environment for students, faculty and staff to explore the social, cultural and systemic factors that influence health across communities and populations.

Through educational programs, global health experiences, lectures, film series, conferences and other initiatives, OGHS creates opportunities to expand perspectives, strengthen cultural awareness and better understand the challenges and opportunities associated with health in an increasingly interconnected world.

OGHS supports programs and experiences that encourage participants to learn from communities local and world wide, explore global and local health issues, and develop the knowledge and perspectives necessary to serve populations across cultural and geographic boundaries.
