About the Track
The track prepares residents to understand and address the global determinants of child health. Applicants with a strong interest in advancing child health through clinical care, education, research and advocacy are encouraged to apply.
Curriculum and Learning Experiences
The track features a focused curriculum, mentored research projects and practical clinical experiences designed to prepare residents to deliver equitable, globally informed pediatric care. The curriculum emphasizes applying global health principles to local practice and developing the skills to advocate for children's health in an increasingly interconnected world.
Alongside core pediatric training, residents participate in educational and scholarly activities that deepen their understanding of contemporary pediatric medicine. They collaborate with faculty and medical students engaged in research and initiatives examining how global factors influence child health.
Global Health in Pediatric Practice
Residents develop their understanding of how global systems can affect children's health and well-being, including:
- Migration
- Climate change
- Conflict
- Supply chains
- Health inequities
The track aims to prepare residents to recognize and address these influences as they progress from learners to pediatricians. This training supports graduates in improving pediatric care and advocating for children in both local and international settings.
