Program Admission Requirements
At the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing (GGHSON), we take a holistic approach to admissions. No single factor determines admission—academic performance, prerequisite
coursework, and other considerations all play a role.
Academic Requirements
To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum GPA: A cumulative 3.0 GPA (overall and science) is required. GPA calculations include all coursework from all institutions attended.
- Prerequisite Courses: All must be completed with a grade of "C" or better prior to enrollment.
- Credit Hour Completion: Applicants must have completed at least 44 of the 55 required prerequisite credit hours at the time of application. This must include:
- Chemistry (4 credit hours)
- Anatomy & Physiology I (4 credit hours)
- Anatomy & Physiology II (4 credit hours)
- Microbiology (4 credit hours)
HESI Assessment Exam
- The HESI Admission Assessment Exam must be completed and submitted with the application.
- Applicants are encouraged to use the GGHSON Department ID when registering.
- All required sections must be completed in one sitting.
- Official scores must be dated within one year of the application submission date.
