Thank you for your interest in the Texas Tech Health El Paso Transitional Year Residency Program at The Hospitals of Providence Transmountain Campus.
Our program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and only accepts applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:

Visa Sponsorship: Texas Tech Health El Paso sponsors J-1 visas only

ECFMG Certification: Required upon submission of ERAS application

Document Translation: If any document is not in English, a word-for-word official translation (on official letterhead) is required. Acceptable sources include:

Government officials
-
Official translation agencies

College/university officials

Foreign Medical Graduates: Must have either:

A valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate, or

A full, unrestricted U.S. medical license

📌 Curriculum Vitae (CV)
📌 Personal Statement (1–2 pages)
📌 Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
📌 Medical School Performance Evaluation (MSPE) (if provided by the medical school)
📌 Official Medical School Transcript (translated into English, if applicable)
📌 Medical School Diploma (if education is completed prior to interview date)
📌 USMLE/COMLEX Scores
- Step 1/Level 1 documentation required at the time of application
- Step 2 CK/Level 2-CE must be completed before starting the program
Previous U.S. clinical experience or research is not required.
Selection & Interview Process
Our Application Review Committee carefully evaluates all applications and selects candidates for interviews.
