Mentorship and Support
Mentorship Program
From the start of their training, residents are paired with a dedicated faculty mentor from the Obstetrics and Gynecology department throughout their residency.
Mentors play a vital role in supporting residents professionally and personally:
- Academic Support: Faculty mentors assist residents in tailored study plans and timelines to prepare for and successfully pass required exams.
- Skills Tracking: Mentors help residents monitor their progress in completing required procedures and mastering essential skills as they advance through the program.
- Personal Support: Beyond academics, mentors are available to provide guidance for personal challenges that may arise during residency.
Additional Support Systems
-
Texas Tech House Staff Association: This organization works closely with residents to address issues relevant to their training and ensure a supportive and productive learning environment.
-
Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Residents have access to this confidential, professional counseling and referral service for work-related and personal concerns. The EAP is free of charge and designed to help residents maintain balance and well-being during their demanding training.
By integrating mentorship and support services, our program ensures that residents have the resources they need to succeed throughout their journey.
