About the Program

The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program is a fully accredited, four-year program designed to meet all requirements for certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This program provides a progressive learning experience, allowing residents to take on increasing levels of responsibility in both medical and surgical care throughout their training. Each year, five residency positions are available.

The curriculum strikes a balance between education, hands-on training, and clinical research, thoroughly preparing residents for diverse career paths, including academic positions, fellowships, or private practice.

Faculty and Clinical Training

The program features a diverse and dedicated team of 21 faculty members, including:

  • 15 physicians
  • 2 certified nurse midwives
  • 1 women’s health nurse practitioner

These faculty members provide direct supervision and mentorship in a wide range of subspecialties, including:

  • General Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • High-Risk Obstetrics
  • Gynecologic Oncology
  • Ultrasonography
  • Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
  • Urodynamics
  • Family Planning
  • Breast Disease
  • Obstetrical Anesthesia

Residents also collaborate with other residency programs within the institution for training in primary care and preventive medicine.

Research Opportunities

Research is a cornerstone of the program. Every resident is required to complete a clinical research project under the guidance of a faculty mentor. These projects are presented during the third year at the Resident's Research Day, highlighting the program’s commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering academic growth.
