Student Clerkship Program
The Clinical Neurosciences Clerkship is designed to equip medical students with essential skills in neurological care. By the end of the program, students will:
- Conduct comprehensive neurological interviews and examinations.
- Consolidate symptoms and signs into syndromes.
- Accurately diagnose neurological diseases.
- Apply evidence-based management strategies effectively.
Program Highlights
Outpatient Clinics
Gain hands-on experience in various outpatient settings, including:
- General Neurology: Broad exposure to common neurological conditions.
- Parkinson's Clinic: Focused care for movement disorders.
- Epilepsy Clinic: Management of seizure disorders.
- Electrodiagnosis (EMG): Diagnostic techniques for neuromuscular conditions.
- Geriatric Neurology: Insights into neurological issues in older adults.
- Stroke Clinic: Comprehensive stroke evaluation and management.
Inpatient Experiences
Participate in inpatient care, focusing on:
- General neurology and acute cases.
- Neurological complications of systemic diseases.
- Stroke rounds and rehabilitation.
- Electrodiagnosis, including EEG and evoked potentials.
Teaching Faculty and Residents
The rotation includes an average of:
- Eight Faculty Members: Experts in various neurological subspecialties.
- Four Rotating Residents: From internal medicine, family medicine, and psychiatry programs.
