Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Act (DFSCA) Compliance

Texas Tech Health El Paso complies with the federal Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Act (DFSCA), which requires institutions of higher education to establish and maintain programs that prevent the unlawful possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students and employees.

Under the DFSCA, we are required to distribute annual notifications to all students and employees. This notification includes:

  • Standards of conduct

  • Applicable legal sanctions

  • Health risks

  • Available counseling/treatment

  • Disciplinary sanctions

Institutional Policies & Disciplinary Sanctions

We enforce strict institutional policies prohibiting the illegal use of drugs and alcohol. Students or employees who violate these policies may face disciplinary action, up to and including termination or expulsion.
