Transitional Year Residency Program
Thank you for your interest in the Texas Tech Health El Paso Transitional Year Residency Program, offered in collaboration with the Foster School of Medicine. The program was approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) in 2023, and welcomed its inaugural class in July 2025.
Our interns train primarily at The Hospitals of Providence Transmountain Campus, working alongside Texas Tech Health El Paso Internal Medicine Transmountain residents and faculty, with additional rotations alongside dedicated community faculty members across El Paso. Together, we serve the inpatient and outpatient needs of the diverse communities of West Texas and Southern New Mexico.
Our goal is to train exceptional interns in a supportive learning environment, with comprehensive, evidence-based rotational experiences in several primary specialties, preparing residents for success in any categorical residency they choose to pursue.

We are a community-focused program that aims to create a pathway to bring well-trained physicians to our community.
