Each fellow will spend two weeks rotating in Park City, Utah at area ski clinics. This rotation exposes fellows to the evaluation and management of:

  • Acute winter sports-related injuries
  • Environmental concerns specific to winter sports

This experience will help fellows gain hands-on knowledge in a specialized setting, reinforcing skills in sports medicine.

  • Weekly Didactics:
Held every Thursday morning at the clinic, covering topics that align with the CAQ examination outline.

  • Quarterly Journal Clubs:
These are held at the clinic or at off-site locations for a broader perspective and in-depth discussion of recent research in sports medicine.

  • Lectures for Family Medicine Residents:
Fellows are expected to periodically present lectures to family medicine residents, fostering communication and teaching skills.

  • Clinical Use: Ultrasound is used regularly in the clinic for diagnostics and procedure guidance.

  • Weekly Ultrasound Practice:
Fellows will participate in dedicated practice sessions, as ultrasound is becoming the standard of care in sports medicine. These sessions provide invaluable hands-on experience.

AMSSM Annual Conference:
Fellows will attend this prestigious conference in the spring, where they are expected to prepare at least one case abstract for presentation. This offers networking opportunities and exposure to cutting-edge research in sports medicine.
