Conflict of Interest in Research Committee
TTUHSC El Paso recognizes its responsibility as a public institution of higher education to promote interaction between its employees and the public and private sectors as an important component of its research activities. TTUHSC El Paso further recognizes that such interaction may give rise to conflicts of interest due to the nature and scope of research activities.
A conflict of interest refers to situations where an individual’s personal or professional considerations may affect or may be perceived to affect the conduct of research, and, if not properly identified and managed, could compromise the integrity and reputation of the institution and its employees. The TTUHSC El Paso Conflict of Interest in Research Committee (COIRC) reviews research disclosures to identify such conflicts and provide management solutions to ensure the integrity of research conducted at the institution.
