Message from the Office of the President – COVID-19 Update - March 11
Dear TTUHSC El Paso students:
Classes will resume as normal after spring break. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso continues to monitor the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). TTUHSC El Paso leadership is working closely with public health officials to keep up to date on the virus and its potential impacts to our community. While there are no positive cases of COVID-19 currently in our area, your health is our top priority. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution, TTUHSC El Paso will be putting contingency plans in place to deliver classes online, should the virus impact our community.
Students who travel – whether for personal or university business – outside of the United States are required to notify the university regarding that travel before leaving or immediately upon return. If the travel was to a country classified as CDC Travel Warning Level 3, travelers will be required to self-isolate off campus for 14 days before returning to campus. Self-disclosure can be made via email to PresidentELP@ttuhsc.edu.
We will continue to follow developments and provide information and recommendations to ensure the health and safety of our university community. Please also review the CDC guidelines about good hygiene and steps to prevent disease at: www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/prevention.
Thank you for your attention and cooperation.
