Diversity and Inclusion
Diversity
There is convincing evidence for emphasizing population health to engage solutions and address the oral health needs of our community. The Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso embraces this concept as it promotes recruitment, expansion and retention of students, residents, graduates, post-graduates, staff and faculty. This breadth includes those of Hispanic origin, those who are multi-lingual, and those from other traditionally under-represented minorities.
Additionally, the Hunt School of Dental Medicine is committed to the following:
- the recruitment, expansion, and retention of students, faculty and staff which supports the ideas of population health;
- the inclusion of students who are from the U.S.-Mexico border region, who are economically or educationally disadvantaged, are often underrepresented in oral health care, and/or of Hispanic origin. The Hunt School of Dental Medicine will also welcome and support students who are multilingual and from other traditionally underrepresented minorities.
