Dear TTUHSC El Paso family:

Thank you for your continued hard work and cooperation with our TTUHSC El Paso leadership as we face an ever-changing situation due to the outbreak of COVID-19 nationwide.

As you know from communication dispersed today, there is one confirmed case of COVID-19 among the TTUHSC El Paso community. Our leadership will remain in contact with this individual as they recover and self-isolate at home. There are now 10 confirmed cases in El Paso County and four in Fort Bliss.

As the impact of the virus continues to escalate locally and nationwide, effective immediately, our university will begin the transition to Phase IV of the Texas Tech University System’s operational phases during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In efforts to protect our TTUHSC El Paso community, as well as the local community, and maintain a safe work environment for all, the intent of Phase IV is to restrict on-campus operations with the exception of critical functions.

During closed-campus operations, all team members will remain “on duty, working remotely” with the exception of those positions designated as “essential core.” Please see the attached memo for information on measures to be followed during Phase IV and a list of positions classified as “essential core.”

TTUHSC El Paso leadership will continue to monitor the situation closely and review the operations phase as necessary. All students, faculty and staff will be updated accordingly. For the most up-to-date information, we encourage you to visit our COVID-19 website, where you will find all communications to the university, as well as helpful resources and answers to frequently asked questions.

Please know your best interests and those of our health care workers and community at large are at the forefront of every decision made by our TTUHSC El Paso leadership. Our number one goal will always be to ensure your health, safety and security.

I extend my sincere gratitude of your continued service to our great university.
